This app collects no personal data

Wolf IP Scanner does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. No account is required. No analytics or tracking of any kind is used.

1. Overview

Wolf IP Scanner ("the App") is developed and maintained by Marcelo Alves Lima, operating under Wolf3D Sistemas. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information in connection with your use of it on macOS.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. The App does not require an account, login, or any personally identifiable information to operate.

3. Network Scanning Activity

The App makes outbound TCP connections to IP addresses and hosts that you explicitly specify. These connections are used solely to determine which hosts are online and which ports are open on your local network.

4. Local Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults:

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

5. Notifications

If you enable scheduled scans, the App uses macOS User Notifications to alert you when network changes are detected. Notification permission may be revoked at any time in System Settings › Notifications › Wolf IP Scanner.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.

When you perform a Whois lookup, the App makes a TCP query to public Whois servers (e.g. whois.iana.org). The queried term (IP address or domain name) is sent to that server as part of the lookup. This is governed by the respective Whois server's own policies.

7. App Sandbox

Wolf IP Scanner runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. It has no access to your files, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, or any other system resource beyond what is needed for network connectivity.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
